Yes Please to My Mind's Eye
You can’t go wrong with the bold colour palette of black, gold and cream in My Mind’s Eye latest range Yes, Please. Whilst the theme of the range is aimed towards celebration and parties, you can use it for virtually any theme you like , as I’ve done here.
I’m in love with the 6″ x 6″ pad which has 24 sheets of gorgeous papers , 2 each of 12 designs. Thank you My Mind’s Eye for actually including that in the description on the front of the pack – so often you never know what you’re getting inside a 6 x 6 pad but no confusion here. Every single sheet is to die for and the designs are totally versatile.
The accompanying embellishments go perfectly and I’ve also teamed the papers with American Craft’s DIY Shop 4 which is another match made in heaven.
I let the patterned paper take centre stage for this layout and kept it simple with a couple of clusters of embellishments and some palm fronds on either corner of the photo.
The cute sunglasses cut out is from the ephemera pack which also includes those phrases in the mini envelope.
Love these Thickers from American Crafts – Dear Lizzy Saturday – Petals Printed Chipboard . They are a useful addition to have in your stash as you could also colour wash the white part so that they would co-ordinate with any colour but I love them in their naked black and white form !
More is more is my new motto so I layered on the patterns for this next layout mixing up stripes, chevrons and polka dots – why not ?!
I cut out some identical hearts to the ones in the heart patterned paper and raised them up on foam dots to form a frame around the photo – that’s out cat Jenny trying to sneak into one of our suitcases when we were packing to go on holiday – hence the title ‘ Nope , You can’t come on holiday with us ‘ !
The title uses the divine American Crafts White and Gold foiled Thickers from the DIY Shop 4 release. Love these so much.
Lastly , more layered patterns. The photo is of a wonderful restaurant which features beautiful golden lighting – so the gold in the papers was the perfect choice. I used the American Crafts DIY Shop 4 white and gold foiled thickers again – must order some more.
I can’t recommend the 6 x 6 paper pad highly enough – every page is a winner and you can layer up all the co-ordinating patters with ease. The flair is from American Crafts DIY Shop 4 release – a perfect match for the Yes, Please collection. You can never have enough gold in your stash I always say !
