Wreath Making | Julie Taylor
Hello Magpies
I’m back again today sharing another layout using the gorgeous Christmas collection from 49th & Market Holiday Wishes. This layout is about going wreath making with my daughter. This was the first time we went & we’re going back again soon!! It was such a lovely evening, crafting, mince pies & hot drinks included & really got us in the mood for the lead up to christmas & obviously it deserved it’s own page.
I started by cutting an inch off 2 sides of my white cardstock & distressing the edges. I drew a faint circle, in the centre, & started adding my mixed media. I applied some texture paste, through a stencil & once dried went in with some of the new Shimmerz, Sage Advice, Blue my Mind & Miner Miner 49er plus some of the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals in the colour bells of Ireland green, out the Prairie Flowers set. I add them & let them run, spritzing with water & drying between each colour ( I have added gesso to my white background to allow for all the water) As long as you dry between colours & don’t add opposite colours you won’t get too much mixing & muddy colours but if you do the gesso will allow you to mop it up.
I sewed some messy machine stitching, in a few different greens, around the edge of the circle to define the edge & added my 3 photos in 2 clusters, top left & bottom right, adding in some of the die cut pieces.
I then cut out lots of foliage, from the 6×8 paper pack, using some dies out my stash & added to each cluster following the curve of the circle.
I added my title in the centre, using some alphas from my stash & I added some of the rub ons inside the circle & the small red stars around the foliage.I mounted the layout onto the Holly Whisps paper to give it a green border.
Thanks for joining me today,
Until next time,
