Wonderful and Fresh

This month I’ve choose to use two new wonderful collections, Crate Paper ‘Wonder’ & Pinkfresh Studio ‘Happy Things’.
My first layout ‘STOP with all the photos’ is using the Happy Things collection. I wanted to do a shaker pocket on this layout so I cut out a triangle from white cardstock & backed it with WRMK black dot foil & stitched that into place, I then added a piece of rustic triangles paper again stitching around that. Using a triangle mask, I added some texture paste & when that had dried I applied some watercolours. To the top of the page I stitched down two strips of paper & added a bit of torn washi tape. I made up some layers behind my photo using the 6×6 paper pad & added a couple of pieces of the wood veneer stickers. The two acetate arrows pointing towards the photo are from the WRMK clearly posh-acetate ephemera die-cut pack. I made the title using the happy things- mini alphabet stickers pack. I then turned the layout over & added foam tape all around the sides of the acetate triangle & added some sequins in a few different colours & some Heidi Swapp Marquee love glitter & then I very carefully peeled the backing off the foam tape & added the ombre/confetti circle paper to the back of the layout making the triangle into a shaker pocket.


My second layout ‘you colour my life crazy’ is again using the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Things collection. This time I wanted to use the lovely ombre tags that came with the line. I gessoed a piece of white cardstock & using some gelatoes I picked colours to match 5 of the tags & added a scribble of each of them to the left hand side of the page, I then sprayed some water & let the colour run in both directions. When it was dry I rubbed some of the colour off using a mask & a babywipe, which gave me the triangles. I then stitched a messy square out from the tags. I made a photo cluster using the 6×6 paper pad & again added a wood veneer. I added some bits & pieces to the tags, that matched the colours, cutting out some from the 6×6 pad, a few acetate die cut triangles, & a couple of rubber charms. I cut out the title on my silhouette & coloured it to match the tags. I finished the layout with a few splatters of black Heidi Swapp color shine spritz.



 
For my third layout ‘dream’ I switched to the Crate Paper ‘Wonder’ collection. I went with a very sweet baby layout of my gorgeous great niece. I added the discover paper to the splendid paper after distressing & punching the edges. I then used some papers from the 6×6 to add in a vertical line on the left hand side of the page. I backed the 3 photos with more papers from the 6×6 paper pad & added them across the centre horizontally. I then added a number of embellishments from the die cut ephemera pack, 12×12 chipboard elements & 6×12 journal & title stickers. I finished it off with a few hearts & triangles from the puffy stickers & some Heidi Swapp gold colour shine.


 
For my final layout ‘my happy place’ I choose to work with the fab large wood veneer that came with the collection & when I saw it, it just screamed embroidery sampler to me so that’s what I went with. I used the bright paper as my background & layered an assortment of papers from the 6×6 paper pad up the page using edging punches & various stitches. I backed the back of the wood veneer with more paper, in each window, & added stitching & a die cut phrase to spell out my title & added various bits from the chipboard elements, journal & title stickers & die cut ephemera. I found a saying on pinterest which just sums up why I scrapbook:’ We gather up bits & pieces of our past & scrapbook them into a gift that will last,’ which I printed onto vellum & added it into one of the house windows
