Wildflower & Honey part 2
Hey Magpies, I am back with my second post using Vicki Boutin’s, Wildflower & Honey collection. This time I have used a lot of the Ephemera – Die-Cuts. I have always been a fan of the packs of ephemera that come in collections and I usually purchase them. Trouble is, I used to hoard them and ‘keep for the perfect LO’. Nowdays I have realised, there will be another collection released and another ephemera pack so I should get using it! And honestly, if I really love an ephemera pack I can always buy another one to hoard can’t I?!!
This first LO uses the tags that come in the Frames & Journalling Die-Cuts pack. There’s 6 tags in the pack and I’ve used 4 of them here. The one with the blue flowers on is smaller than the others but I just added a strip of washi tape along the bottom to make it appear longer. This is a real simple and easy LO design which I use a lot – see my next LO! Just lay some of the ephemera across the page with a photo and you’re done!
To embellish this LO I used various bits and bobs from the Chipboard Accent Thickers and a couple of the stickers from the Sticker Book which I will say, they’re not that sticky and I had problems with them staying stuck to my LO’s. So once I was sure where my sticker was going, I used some extra wet glue to adhere properly. The word Adore is from the Puffy Word Stickers in the Paige Evans Truly Grateful collection and the tiny little cat is from Amy Tangerine’s new collection, Slice of Life and is one of the Mini Puffy Stickers.
Again, I just layered some ephemera across the page for this LO! I have used bits from both ephemera packs, the jars come from the Icons Die-Cuts pack and I have also used bits from the Frames & Journalling pack too. That’s about it for this LO, some ephemera! I used some scraps across the bottom and the card behind my photo is from the Mingle Paper and the title from the Icons Ephemera pack. I splattered some gold mist around and dotted some Nuvo Crystal Drops across the bottom. A super simple design and real easy to copy and recreate yourself.
Now is a good time to remind you Magpies about the monthly challenge on our FB Chat & Inspiration Group there’s a challenge every month where you can win Magpie Points to spend in the store worth £10! This month’s challenge, set by Julie, is to do a grid LO and here’s a fast and super easy grid idea. I do this a lot and my tip for you is, if you’re worried about getting things lined up exactly right, don’t even bother. Go for the relaxed look like this, it’s much easier, just whack those rectangles/squares on!
I used the cut-apart Mingle paper for my grid and just bunged them on there around a photo. Then I used various embellishments to decorate. One of the Layered Butterfly Stickers, some of the stickers from the Sticker Book, some of the 6×12 Stickers and some of the Chipboard Accent Stickers too. This LO was so easy to whack together, it’s a real simple idea and makes such a fast LO, you guys should definitely try it next time you’re stuck for an idea. Bung a quick grid together and enter our October challenge while you’re at it!
I hope you liked seeing what I made with the Wildflower & Honey collection, I enjoyed making them! I love that this new Vicki Boutin collection will co-ordinate so well with the older collections and they’re so usable for all sorts of creations. It’s so versatile! I have chosen the new Heidi Swapp collection, Honey & Spice for November (OMG, I can’t believe it’ll be November soon can you!!!) so I will see you on the 2nd with my first post using that. See you then Magpies!
