Wildflower & Honey | Julie Taylor

Hi Magpies, back again with my 2nd part of using Vicki Boutin’s Wildflower & Honey collection.

Bee Crafty

For my first layout I went with the bee theme of the collection but a different meaning of the word. I first added some mixed media to Hive paper, using oxide inks & texture paste through the honeycomb stencil.

I ripped a piece from the top & added it to the B side of Lemon Spritz Paper adding a bit of Full Bloom Paper for a contrast.

I layered my photos on some of the ephemera in the collection & added stickers, die cuts & chipboard in & around the photos. I even added some of the packaging (the honeycomb) as it’s too pretty to throw away. My title is a play on a different meaning of bee & the photos show a lovely crafty retreat with fellow DT members & great friends.

I was not made to be Subtle

As soon as I saw this wording, on a piece of ephemera, I knew it would be a great title for my 2nd layout depicting my daughters new tattoo.

I again did some mixed media work on the background. I just love how just a few inks & stamps can make any blank page match any collection & truly unique to you. I added inks, by smooching them on & also through a stencil & added a few stamps & splatters.

I placed my photo in the middle, coming down the page & extended that line by adding ephemera around the photos & to the top & bottom.

A few word stickers, stitching & the title finished off the page.

I’ve really loved working with this collection, did you manage to get yourself some? Please share what you create on our Facebook group, I’d love to see.

until next time
