Wildflower & Honey is so much fun!
Hey Magpies, welcome to October! I chose the fabulous new collection from Vicki Boutin, Wildflower & Honey to work with this month. I love the Vicki Boutin lines, she seems to design collections that are just so easy to use for all sorts of layouts and creations.
I started out making this one, I got the 6×8 Paper Pad, I am a big fan of the smaller paper pads, I love the smaller size designs and always buy them. So I got my pad, went through it and pulled out the sheets I knew I definitely wanted to use. The hearts pattern was definitely one of them so I started my LO with that. Then honestly, all I did was throw some of the different ephemera on there! I used both packs, the Journalling Ephemera Die-Cuts and also the Icons Ephemera Die-Cuts pack. The florals and leaves are all from the second pack and I just layered them up here and popped some up on foam pads for dimension.
My title is from the Paige Evans, Truly Grateful Puffy Thickers pack. I somehow missed that there were Phrase Thickers in the Wildflower & Honey collection and didn’t buy those (I will buy them for sure next time I do an order!) so I used the Paige Evans Thickers a lot this month instead. I added in some of the Glitter Foam Phrase Thickers from the new Amy Tangerine, Slice of Life collection which includes that amazing rainbow, I could use about a million of those!
This next layout was actually the last one of the 6 I made of this month (you’ll see the second 3 on the 16th). I had made 5 LO’s and that kinda bugs me, I like an even number to share so I was laying out a lot of the ephemera from the Frames & Journalling Die-Cuts pack on a piece of white cardstock to have a look at them and well, I just decided to stick them down! I had laid down the lemon card from the Hey Honey paper and then a whole lot of the ephemera. I just bit the bullet and stuck it all down and then used the ‘make your own magic’ title and also a lot of the little shapes from the Truly Grateful Phase Thickers pack. I also added some of the little Puffy Shape Stickers from that line too.
I found an old photo of my cat and it looked great on the leaves paper from the 6×8 Paper Pad so I went with that and layered it on top of the Sweet Honey paper. I loved the manufacturer strip on the bottom of the Sweet Honey paper, it’s the black and white stripe, so I left that there! Then dotted around some of the ephemera and also a couple of the super lush Layered Butterfly Stickers which are very dimensional and cool but on top of the large one at the top of my photo, I fussy cut one of the Foiled Vellum Specialty Paper ones and popped it on top for an extra cool look! My title comes from lots of different sources, the AmyT Puffy Thickers, Paige Evans Puffy Thickers, VickiB ephemera and the perfection letters are from the new Maggie Holmes, Heritage collection and they’re Sarah Foam Foiled Alphabet Thickers and they’re really cool, you get gold and black ones in the same pack, 2 for 1!
I will be back later in the month, on the 16th, with 3 more layouts using the amazing Wildflower & Honey collection and next time, they’re real clean & simple layouts using a lot more of the ephemera. I’ll see you then Magpies, take care everyone!
