Wicker Lane Mini Book | Jo Boland

Hey there, it’s Jo back with another project using the bright and colourful Wicker Lane collection by Photoplay Paper. I love making mini books and the camera paper from the collection gave me the idea. The paper is called Moments is is covered in little cameras, which are perfect for fussy cutting! My favourite ones are the cameras with florals on, so cute.

My mini book is super simple. The pages are 4×4″ square, a mixture of patterned paper from the collection and smooth white cardstock. It’s bound together with book rings, these are from my stash, but you can find some in the store here. I’ve added some bright tassels from Rosie’s Studio Lucky Me collection to the top ring, the colours worked really well with the Wicker Lane collection!

The front and back covers are made studier by sandwiching a piece of cardstock between two pieces of patterned paper. I used red line tape to create a neat seal around the edges of the covers. Throughout the book you’ll see I added die-cut cameras. These are made using the lovely Rosie’s Studio Basics Mini Die – Camera and smooth white cardstock. You’ll also see throughout the mini book that I’ve added in labels, these are actually a freebie in the Hey Little Magpie shop which you simply download and print at home.

I embellished the mini book with 12×12 element stickers and cardstock ephemera die-cut pieces from the Wicker Lane collection by Photoplay Paper. Some are popped up on foam pads or foam tape, like those on the front cover and on the first page seen above. The bright word paper is called In This House.

Mini Book Flip Through

Here’s some of the pages from the mini-book. I will film a little flip through and add it to the Hey Little Magpie and my own YouTube channel and share the link when I’ve made it.

I created pockets on some of the pages by trimming off cuts and using the thin red line tape to adhere them to the page underneath. The yellow dot paper is Our House and the floral paper is Gather Together.

I printed my photos at home on my Canon Selphy, getting two 2 3/4″ square photos onto a sheet of photo paper. I trimmed these to look like polaroids which gave me a nice little space to write my journaling on.

The striped paper is the reverse side of the yellow spotty paper.

The plaid paper is called Dad’s Flannel and the reverse side is a bright pink.

The orange paper is the reverse side of the floral paper.

You can find all of the Photoplay Paper collections here and the Wicker Lane collection here.
