What's Your Summer Vibe – Simple Stories – Summer Vibes Collection
Hello everyone, Jackie here back with a my layouts this month using the lovely collection by Simple Stories – Summer Vibes, this month I decided to add some texture to all my layouts, so also used the Amy Tangerine – Alphabet Stitching Template,.
So let begin with my first layout – Cheers – photo of my son enjoying a glass of champagne at a recent garden party we attended.
For the background I used ‘Simple Stories – Summer Vibes – Just Beachy Paper’ which has a pre-printed design on, and a selection of papers from the 6×6 pad as a base for my photograph and added two chipboard frames from the collection to the side of the photograph – adding some emphera and chipboard stickers from the collection. I hand-stitched the word ‘Cheers’ as my title to the bottom of the layout. Finishing off with some enamel dots and wood veneer shapes around the layout.
For my 2nd layout – Barefoot Footprints at the Beach. I cut the large title and footprints out of cardstock using my silhouette cameo, and then adhere it to a sheet of yellow paper I had in my stash.
I layered the photograph using a selection of paper from the Simple Stories – Summer Vibes 6×6 pad, and used a few of the stickers from the Simple Stories – Summer Vibes Expression (alphabet) sticker sheet. I coloured the Wood chip arrow from Freckled Fawn using my yellow ink pad and added it to the side of the photo as well as adding a paperclip from Webster’s Pages – These are the Days collection. As this layout had a large cut title across the page, I used the stickers from the Alphabet sheet to continue with the title and ‘Beach’ word that was in the Simple Stories – Summer Vibes – Emphera pack.
To finish the layout off I add some hand-stitched details using the Amy Tangerine Template to the bottom of the page.
After seeing this layout on the screen – I decided to change it, so here is the final version. As everything was already struck down, I just added a few arrow stickers and some wood veneer. I also outlined the inside of the title to give them more definition.
My 3rd layout – Just Chilling in the Park – started with Simple Stories – Summer Vibes – Shine on Paper as my background. I just love the colour tones on this sheet and decided to use it on its side.
I layered two photos behind two frames and then layered then on a selection of papers from the 6×6 pad, adding stickers, and chipboard shapes around the layouts.
I used one of the smaller frame as a accent at the bottom left of the page has I felt like it was too much of a blank area and it helps draw the whole layout together.
For the hand-stitching, I choose 4 different colours – getting the inspiration for the colours from the background paper – and mixed them up when I stitched, and used the alphabet stickers to for part of the title.
For my final layout – I used a cut file – cut with my silhouette cameo – I cut the design using white cardstock and inked, misted and splattered the ‘b’ side of Simple Stories – Summer Vibes – Sun-kissed Paper as well as the die cut. Apologies that my selfie photograph looking dark but I was under an umbrella and with the cap on it gives me a dark shadow over my face – but hey! who said that all photos have to be perfect to be scrapbooked – let embrace the imperfect photo I say.
Again using the 6×6 pad and some of the wood chip frames I layered the photographs on top and added various stickers, chipboard shapes around my photographs, as well as a HLM flare badge
I outlined the letters on the die cut give them more definition and also added a few cross stitches to the top left and bottom right of the page, using the Amy Tangerine Stitching Template
I hope you can get some inspiration from my layouts to use this lovely collection and scrap some of your summer photos – even the ones that are not 100%.
Till next month
