Vintage North Pole Fun | Julie Taylor
Hi Magpies, Julie here with you today sharing 2 layouts using the fab festive collection from Simple Stories, Vintage North Pole. It’s a traditional collection with lots of red & green with jolly Santas & vintage images.
Jolly merry memories
For my first page I took inspiration from the paper ‘The Trimmings’ & decided to create a Christmas tree on the page. I cut a few pine branches, out the 6×8 paper pad & stamped & embossed a few of the images from the stamp set & then layered them, all up the page, following a tree shape.
I used cardstock stickers, chipboard stickers, ephemera from the bits & pieces pack & plenty of stickers from the sticker book.
I nestled my photo in the foliage & used Santa boots as the trunk & the 25 chipboard, at the top. A few stamped stars & green splatters finished the layout.
Joy
I first made some woodgrain cardstock by scoring, folding & inking a piece of textured white cardstock. I cut this down & added this to the B-side of ‘The Trimmings’ paper, distressing the bottom edge & adding some black & white striped paper from the 6×8 paper pad & some pompom trim & a small cluster.
I then built up my clusters, going across the page, using a chipboard frame, fussy cut bits from the 6×8 paper pad, die cuts & chipboard.
I added 2 lines of twine, stapled down, to look like it was all hanging from that & added a few buttons for some texture. My title came from the foam stickers.
I hope you have enjoyed my festive offerings & I’ll be back later in the month with a couple more.
until next time, happy scrapping.
