Vintage Coastal | Simple Stories | Morag Cutts
Hey there friends. I’m hoping that summer hasn’t been and gone and we have more good weather to look forward to. We had a trip of a lifetime to Mexico back in 2016. When I saw Simple Stories Simple Vintage Costal I knew it would be a perfect collection to document our favourite trip.
One of the best memories from our holiday are the beautiful cenotes – lagoons with crystal-clear fresh water. This small cenote was our favourite so I wanted to make a layout that would really do our visit justice.
The Vintage Coastal collection has amazing, pretty papers with layered images and a light distressed feel. The Let’s Get Lost paper has gorgeous vintage elements making it a breeze to create as all the hard work is done.
To add a little colour behind my photo , I smooshed some ink and watered down acrylic paint to give a splashy water effect. I layered some gauze under my photo for added texture before creating an embellishment cluster. The die-cut bits and pieces have a great selection of pretty shells, I layered these over a handmade tag. Die-cut leaves and flowers add more depth and texture.
I made another embellishment area at the bottom of the layout. To create layers, I used a mixture of die-cuts and 12×12 Combo stickers. To add more layers I also die-cut some of the patterned papers.
I hope I have inspired you to document a favourite holiday – just what we need while we are unable to travel.
Thanks for stopping by.
