Hello Magpies,

I hope the dull days of winter are cheered up with being able to stay home and do some lovely scrapbooking!

I’ve been working with Vicki Boutin’s Storyteller collection this month. And there is so much to choose from, with 24 double sided papers, 2 packs of ephemera and lots more!

TOP DOG!

I began my first layout by adding some yellow and orange paint using the ‘packaging’ technique, plus some ink splatters, onto white cardstock. I trimmed the cardstock and glued it to a floral paper to make a border.

Then I backed my photo with three papers and added it to the middle of the page. The gold trim is from my own stash.

Then I spent some time happily fussy cutting lots of leaves, which I arranged around the photo with some flowers as well.

I left a space below the photo for the title which I added using the chipboard letters from the collection. I topped it with a cute die cut bird and wrote the journalling underneath.

CURRENTLY

My second layout is quite different, especially the colours, which shows how versatile this collection is.

I used some blue paint across the middle of some white cardstock, using a dry brush and some stippling with a piece of scrunched kitchen roll! I splattered some green ink drops as well.

There’s a lovely sheet of  gold printed vellum in this collection. I decided to cut out some of the circles and added them over the painted area  just below the centre. I fussy cut three blue flowers to add to the design.

I backed my two photos with white cardstock and placed them over the row of circles, with a journalling chipboard tag below them. The puffy stickers are lovely so I added a heart between the photos.

I added my title which is also from the pack of puffy stickers, plus another heart and die cut bird to finish it off.

I’ll be back later in the month with two more projects to share with you. Until then, happy scrapping!
