Vicki Boutin part 2 | Fernwood | Giselle Homer

Hello again Magpies,

With February half way through my scrapping thoughts are turning to spring & so this Vicki Boutin collection was my go-to choice, it has lots of florals & leaves to choose from.

EVERYDAY FUN

I’ve seen some layouts recently that use tags in their design, so I wanted to try it for myself. Choosing which tags to use wasn’t easy – there are so many in this collection but I whittled it down to four!

I began this layout by stencilling come horizontal lines across the middle in two shades of green, which was then sprinkled with dark green paint splatters. Then I drew two (not very straight!) thin lines in green to form a border.

I distressed the edges of my photo & the 4 tags, placing 3 of them with the photo in the centre of the page. I joined them up by threading a wax thread through the tops & letting the ends curl wherever they fell.

The tags were cut from the  Fernwood Tags paper, as was the strip of colours which I placed below the photo. It had a useful white label to write on & served as a ‘base’ for the photo. I added some gold puffy embellishments from the puffy stickers in the collection, which are really lovely, I really like the matt finish too!

I fussy cut some flowers & a cute bird to place either side of the coloured strip. Then I tucked the fourth tag behind the strip with some chipboard phrases too. Finally I used words from the Puffy Phrase Stickers to make my title & added a chipboard leaf shape below it.

I hope you get lots of spring photos to use over the next couple of months &  plenty of scrapping time to create some layouts.

Until next month, happy scrapping everyone!
