Vicki Boutin – Let’s Wander | Jo Boland
Hi, Jo here with my first batch of March projects. This month I’m working with the new Vicki Boutin Let’s Wander collection which is a mix of travel and days out in a colourful palette.
Scrapbook Layout ‘Bath’
I used the Around Here paper, this is the gorgeous B-side with rows and rows of buildings, ahh, love it! I fussy cut out two wide sections of the paper to create layers and rooftops, adding foam pads under the roofs totally lifts it and creates dimension.
Firstly I splattered the white cardstock background with some gold ink (from my stash) before adding anything to the page.
I added ephemera pieces from the die-cut embellishments shapes pack (cardstock and vellum pieces), chipboard stickers pack and cardstock stickers pack. The title letter stickers are Heidi Swapp Art Walk alphabet stickers.
I was running out of daylight and keen to finish and photograph this layout, wasn’t until afterwards I realised I’d forgotten to add my journaling! I’ve since written on the postcard and added a date to the tag.
Scrapbook layout 2 ‘The Green Bird Cafe’
This layout is full on colour! I used the colourful sunbeam patterned Day Tripping paper, including the branding strip which I’ve layered on foam pads on top of the matching section of the paper.
First of all I trimmed the paper to 11 1/2″ wide by 11 3/4″ tall and stitched between the colours of the sunbeam. I roughed up the edges and matted it on a piece of kraft cardstock. Then distressed the edges further by bending them over and added the matching strip on top.
I layered up photos and ephemera pieces, chipboard sticker and cardstock stickers using foam pads and flat adhesives.
I added my journaling to the post card and bill die-cuts and added a date with a date stamp. Plus, how cute is that bird? Totally perfect for my Green Bird Cafe layout. I hadn’t planned that at all, just spotted it on the sticker sheet after I’d printed my photos!
The title is a mix of Heidi Swapp Art Walk alphabet stickers and One Canoe Two Willow thickers from my stash.
