Using flower dies | Julie Taylor
Hello Magpies
Julie back with you again today sharing a layout I’ve made incorporating some of the exclusive Hey Little Magpie flower dies. I had this beautiful photo of the confetti flower fields & wanted to scrap it so it looked like they were amongst the flowers on the page & the flower dies were just perfect to help to do that.
I chose 49 and Market Krafty Garden to use on this layout as the florals are very cottage garden & the colours went perfectly.
For my base paper I’ve used the green 12×12 solids collection pack from the Summer Porch collection, these papers are great as base papers ready to build on. I placed a full 12″ strip of the fabric tape over on the right hand edge & muted it down with a bit of white acrylic paint. I then built up clusters using laser cut elements, ephemera bits, acetate assortment & some of the postage stamp Washi.
I added my photo onto one of the stacked frames & added a couple of word pieces on the left.
I positioned the photo centrally & over to the right on top of the cluster & added some bendable Rub ons to the left of the photo. Then came the time to add all the flowers. I picked suitable flowers out the laser cut wildflowers & mini laser cut elements pack & teamed them up with the die cut long stem lavender, long stem cow parsley & long stem wildflowers to give that cottage, abundant flower feeling.
I placed another small cluster over to the left using a ticket, tag, postage stamps, flowers & a laser cut bow.
I did a bit of text stamping around the page & added a few essentials rub ons to finish my page.
Hope you like what I’ve created & take a look at the exclusive dies, they can really add to your collections & make them more your own!!!
Until next time,
