Unforgettable Revisited – Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Sheena Rowlands
Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x
This past month I’ve been using my collection pack of Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Unforgettable, which is out on my desk and I noticed that there are lots of lovely butterflies in this collection which ties in perfectly with the Monthly challenge set by Amy. So I challenged myself to use butterflies on both my layouts for this post.
Making Memories.
Whilst on holiday with my Daughter we saw these wings painted on a wall. You just have to take advantage of photo opportunities when they happen, don’t you. I wanted to focus on the butterflies so I fussy cut them from both the Unforgettable – lapwing 12×12 and 6×8 papers.
I took some gessoed cardstock as my base and added water colour paint in 3 vertical lines in colours to match the butterflies.
When that was dry I arranged the butterflies and machine stitched them through the centre giving them each antenna. This took me longer than I thought it would!!but luckily I was happy with the finished look.
Rather than cover over too many butterflies I added the matted photo to one side with a sticker title to finish.
A Moment in Time.
For my second layout using Unforgettable I started with busy Sprightly paper as my base. I found a photo with a butterfly filter which was perfect with it and the page grew from there.
Using papers from the 6×8 paper pad and a die cut frame I matted the photo and layered behind it using bold patterns and colours. I added white acrylic paint to the base paper to reduce the vibrancy of the pattern and help the photo cluster pop.
I added the photo cluster to the base paper then embellished in 3 places around the photo using circles, flowers and butterflies.
We would love to see your creations so please share with us over on our Facebook group x
Till next time x
