Unforgettable Part 2 – Philippa McCray

Hi there Magpies!

This month I’ve been using the beautiful Unforgettable collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio and today I’m sharing a tag book/mini album. I take a lot of photos that I don’t necessarily wish to devote a whole layout to so a tag book or mini album are a great way to use mini photos and record my memories.

I started by looking through my dies and decided on an eight petal flower shape for my pages. This is not an easy shape to machine stitch around as I discovered, hence why only one page has machine stitching! I cut shapes in two different sizes from a variety of the papers

Just to mix things up, I also cut the shape from postcards picked up on my trip and used a couple of the tags cut from the Story Teller paper which I topped with a portion of the flower shape.

I made a pocket on the machine stitched page to hold a few small photos.

On another page I made an accordion style fold out secured with a mini clip so I could add photos front and back.

I decorated the pages of my tag book/mini album using die cuts from the Ephemera Pack, Clear Stickers and Accessory Stickers along with colour coordinated threads, a few enamel dots and bits and pieces from my stash. I love the tactile quality and chunkiness of a little book!

The ring embellishments were made using tassels from the Tassel & Bow pack, handmade paper beads and some beautiful vintage beads from my collection. Just for fun I added a piece of pom pom trim and some ribbon.

I love the way it turned out!

You can see my other projects using this gorgeous collection here. Do visit the store and view the full collection and don’t forget we love to see your creations on the HLM Facebook page.

Next month I’ll be back with some more projects using a new collection. Until then Happy Scrapping!
