Under Sea Adventures – Echo Park – Part Two – Amy Kattenbelt
Hello Magpies, Amy here today to share with you another layout idea using Under Sea Adventures by Echo Park Paper.
A day By The Sea
For this layout I am using a photo taken on a trip to the sea side last year. The submarines in the collection gave me the fun idea to create a layout based around a porthole.
I started by cutting a ring out of the yellow patterned paper. I used my Silhouette to do this, but you could also use a compass or draw around some plates and then cut out by hand. I also used two sized circle punches to cut 8 circles in red and 8 (slightly smaller) in orange. I also cut a very rough circle shape from the paper called ‘Fish Are Friends’. I placed my circle in the lower left corner of this paper as I liked how the corals lined up in the view of my porthole window. Next I cut up small lengths of foam tape into thin stripes and stuck them around the sea patterned paper. I then stuck the yellow ring of paper on top.
Spacing them out equally, I first stuck down the 8 red circles, and then using foam dots I stuck an orange circle on top of each of these. I created my bold title using Simple Stories Color Vibe Foam Alphabet Stickers in black, and placed it along with the date around the porthole, which I stuck to the centre of my layout.
I added some sea creature stickers, and a submarine sticker, from the sticker sheet into the porthole windows view of the sea. I tucked them behind the porthole yellow frame in places.
Either side of my photo, which I framed in white, and placed in the lower right side of the layout (which balanced with the title), I added some phrase stickers. I decorated with a few other stickers until I was happy with the layout. It was a really quick and fun layout, I love how unique it is amongst all my other layouts.
