Type Set by Basic Grey

Hello Magpies,I hope you are keeping well and kicking and as I type its another wet and windy day and the temperature has just started to drop, so what better way then to stop inside in the warmth and craft.
This month I choose the collection from Basic Grey – Type Set, I was going though some of my old photographs and came across one of me in my youth, at my first job and it did bring me back some great memories, and at the same time I spotted this collection in the shop and just knew I needed it for this photograph.
‘Take a Letter ….”
I mainly used some of the sheets from the 6×6 pad, to matt and layer underneath the photograph, then added some stickers from the Basic Grey – Type Set sticker sheet and some of the Basic Grey – Type Set chipboard from the collection.

Two things I’ve not used for a while is cardstock as a background and also my stash of Thickers, of which Ive used  on both my layouts.
These thickers are from a Dear Lizzy collection and looking at them I really need to use them more often, especially as I’ve have quite a few packets to use and there are always new ones coming out.  Anyway I digress, I teamed that up with the Basic Grey- Type-Set   Epoxy Alphabet Stickers

I found this flair badge in my stash, which is ideal for this layout, accompanied with stickers from the sticker sheet.

I added some hidden journalling on a tag at the side of the layout.

I wanted to use the typewriter from the chipboard sheet but it had ‘today’ … printed on it, and as it was several, ok more than several years ago – ha! ha! I decided to change the phase, by stamping onto some paper and overlying the word.
Close up you can see the edge, but when in the page protector its not noticable and it works for me.

For my 2nd layout, I did a layout of my new addition to my craftroom, my new manual typewriter.
My fellow HLM buddy Julie, surprised me with it for my birthday, I could never have guest what was in the large package and it is one thing I’ve been looking for, for quite a while and I love! love! love it.
“ … Just my Type …”
Using the B side of this patterned paper I splattered a few ink spot over the back, cutting a 4 inch strip of this paper .

I distressed the edges and ink them with black ink, adding a thin strip of this paper to one side and curlled the edges slight so that you can see the patterned paper underneath.

I then mounted the 3 photos onto paper from the 6×6 pad, using 3d foam pads under meant the photographs.
Then on the left side of the page, I added a one inch strip to the edge, then using a few of the chipboard and stickers, as well as 3 of the flair badges that comes with this collection.

For the title I used on of the large stickers, a large wood veneer ampersand and the same thickers as my previous layout.
I love how my layouts this months have turned out and I hope you can get some inspiration from this collection to give it a try.
Happy Scrapping …
