It's All Heart | Niki Rowland
Hi Everyone, Niki here today with my two latest layouts. I’ve used Crate Paper All Heart this month.
For my first layout I made a star burst shape out of the different patterned papers. I distressed the edges of each piece and then stuck them to my layout. I added machine stitched lines using silver thread.
I then stamped some of the stamps onto the layout with clear ink and I added silver embossing powder.
I then started to layer up my photo with some paper and tissue paper. I added a puffy frame too and then added lots of the lovely ephemera. I also added one of those gorgeous silver hearts.
I used silver thread to tie on a charm and the tassels. I added pom pom trim, chipboard stickers, puffy stickers and some sequins.
Finally I added my title. I used the pink Thickers from this collection but they didn’t show up too well against the colourful background. So I stuck them onto white card and closely trimmed around the letters. The word ‘For’ is using an older set of navy alphas from my stash.
My second layout ‘fun’ is made on a white cardstock background. I’ve used Marshmallow. First of all I made a mixed media background – I used a stencil to add some texture paste. Then I made water colour strips BUT then of course I covered it all up!
I added lots of splatters and stamping to my background. Then I layered up the tiles from one of the speciality sheets. I distressed the edges of them first. I added some black machine stitching to my tiles and also to the right edge of the layout
I’ve used silver thread again to sew in star charms. I also used thread to dangle two tassels from. I added chipboard accents and word stickers.
I also cut up the other speciality sheet – the one with all the foiled hearts. I scattered these around the layout together with some sequins and some black paint splatters.
