Two Carta Bella collections | Snow Much Fun and Home Again
Hello again Magpies,
I trust you’ve all taken down your Christmas decorations and said a fond farewell to all things festive. I have 2 layouts to share today, one of which is my last Christmas page for the time being!

I began by cutting a large Christmas frame cut file from Paige Evans that has lots of festive elements. I backfilled each one with papers from the Snow Much Fun collection from Carta Bella – it took ages!

I placed it on a white background but thought that it didn’t have as much impact as I’d hoped. So I set about fussy cutting a backing frame, which also took ages, but I think it was well worth the effort!

Next I layered the photo with 2 patterned papers from the collection and glued it into place slightly off centre. I chose some stickers adding them to the right of the photo with a couple of tags, a cute penguin which I’d cut from one of the papers and a few enamel dots. Then I finished the page by adding my title using tiny foam letters.

My second layout couldn’t be more different, I used the Home Again Collection, also from Carta Bella and I began by making a mixed media background on white cardstock. I started by using some pale green paint down the centre of the page using the packaging technique and some thin horizontal lines in a darker green. Once that was dry I flicked some splatters of different darker colours, concentrating on the centre vertical line.
I backed the photo with a few pieces of patterned papers and one from Kraft cardstock then glued it into place slightly higher than the centre. I then cut some thin strips from the patterned papers adding them above and below the photo and a veneer phrase embellishment at the top. I stuck three little embellishments on the left edge of the photo.
I used a sticker for my title and I fussy cut some flowers to place on the left of the photo.
I added another two stickers to the right corner and pencilled in the date.
Then I glued some leaves which I’d cut from the Silhouette library above and below the photo. A few golden puffy stickers finished off the layout.
With the papers that were left I made 2 greeting cards, it’s always handy to have a supply in case you forget a birthday!
That’s it from me for January. I hope you all keep warm and enjoys lots of scrapping time this month.
