Two Carta Bella Collections | Giselle Homer

Happy New Year! I hope you’ve all enjoyed the festive season and found some time to scrapbook! I’m using two collections this month, both by Carta Bella, which happen to work well with each other although the themes are quite different.

My first layout uses ‘Snow Much Fun’ paired with a page from Vicki Boutin’s mixed media paper for the background.

I started by adding some texture paste through a stencil and sprinkled some mini art stones onto it before it set. If you try these, be careful – they go absolutely everywhere! While this dried, I layered my photo and then glued it to my page. I placed a die cut frame behind the photo and added some cute tree stickers on either side. I chose my title from the sticker sheet in the collection and placed it on the right of the photo.

I also added a wood veneer phrase embellishment from Elle’s Studio.

Then I placed two tags below the photo, one of which I threaded with twine that also looped through the die cut.

I finished the layout with a punched circle for my journalling, some snowflake stickers plus a wooden dog and some silver dots from my stash

My second layout takes us right back to last summer with the Home Again collection. I used a large cut file from Silhouette and backed filled it with two flowery patterned papers. I glued this to a dark green piece of cardstock.

At the top of the page I added a little row of stickers and threaded some twine through them to make a little cluster, topped with a phrase sticker and two gold dots.

Then I layered my photo using a patterned paper and plain cardstock. The background is quite ‘busy’ so I added a larger white backing to the photo, edged with dark green, to help it stand out better. Then I glued a tag and a large flower die cut to the left of the photo, with a couple of smaller stickers.

I chose a word sticker for my title which I added to the right of the photo, along with a couple more stickers, two gold hearts and with two photo corners from my own stash.
