Travel Time.
Hi there x
Whilst looking on my computer for some photos to scrap I realised that I take most of my photos on days out, weekends away & family holidays. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. So this prompted me to take a look at some of the new travel themed collections that are available in the shop for my post this month. In particular Crate Paper – Journey, Pink Paislee – Atlas and My Minds Eye – Hello World. All these ranges could be used to scrapbook almost any subject but I’ve concentrated on getting a few more holiday photos off of my computer and into my albums x
Love South Africa.
The first travel range I focused on is Crate Paper – Journey . The Let’s Go journalling card paper was my starting point for the design, using this & some papers from the 6×6 pad to create the tags to hold a selection of photos from our trip in 2013. I used these photos in particular when I saw the map paper showed South Africa & I took this as a sign so cut it out as a tag to hold my title.
The embellishments used to decorate the tags were from the Puffy sticker sheet, cork shapes and 6×12 accent stickers with foil sheets. Also a foam camera cut with the Die-Namics cute camera thin die.
Let’s Be Adventurous.
This page uses the travel themed Pink Paislee Atlas collection. I used the Take Fight journalling card paper. This photo, another from South Africa, was printed A4 which isn’t something I would normally do but I felt it showed off the colours better, bigger. As the photo was smaller than 12 inches I used 2 pieces of cardstock to mount it on to compensate.
I loved the embellishments available with this range & used a selection from the puffy stickers, chipboard shapes & travel tags to layer down the side of the photo. Finished off with foam stars & arrows cut using plus cork stars from Freckled Fawn.
Here We Go!
This time I concentrated on the MME – Hello World! travel collection. The colours of this range have a more muted look to them but were still perfect for my photo bomb photos from Durban. The trimmed background Here & There paper was first gessoed using my fingers then when dry sewn using my machine for extra texture & interest.
The photos were layered using lots of papers from the 6×6 paper pad, inked & torn on the edges.
The embellishments came from the All Aboard wood veneer, enamel shapes, flair & travel mixed bag with lots more left over.
By the time I’d finished these layouts my desk was awash with paper & bits and pieces from all 3 ranges so I set about using them all together for my final page this month.
Adventure Awaits…
I picked through the papers & found this journalling card from the Pink Paislee sheet & used this to start me off. Its a great phrase & perfect for scrapping one of my many aeroplane wing photos! I collected together 7 different patterned papers from the two 6×6 pads & stitched them to the cardstock to create the background. I reached for the Heidi Swapp Wanderlust wood veneer that was sitting in my stash, when I first ordered it I was a little shocked by it’s size but when I finally took it out of the packaging I thought it would be a perfect as part of the title along with a Silhouette cut word.
The embellishments are a real mix of chipboard, cork, wood, enamel & puffy stickers.
Are you planning to travel this year ? some days out ? or road trips ? check out these ranges in the shop as there is sure to be something perfect to help you record it all.
Till next time x
