Tim Holtz Media Marks and Vicki Boutin Printshop – Amy Kattenbelt
Hello Magpies, Amy here again sharing another way in which I used the two Media Marks stamp sets by Tim Holtz, I have mainly used set #1.
Good Times
For this layout I have used some pieces from Vicki Boutin’s Printshop collection. I was late discovering this gorgeous collection, but have loves working with the paperie pack, a few of the papers, the sticker sheet and the floral die cuts.
I started this layout by using the wonky scalloped stamp around the edges of my page. I also used the large scribbled stamp twice down the centre. I used waterproof black ink. I really wanted to embrace the mixed media feel of the stamp sets and I really love the result.
I then used some Shimmerz Creameez to add colour to my stamping. I used the packaging technique done the middle, and used a paint brush to paint some of the scalloped shaped. First I used Boggie Boardin’ Blue.
When this was dry I added some Berry Hot pink and finally some Just In Lime green. The colours match Vicki’s collection perfectly. I also used a paint brush to added splatters of the same three colours.
I used vertical pieces of ripped black and white patterned papers, and layered these with an acrylic filmstrip by 49 & Market in fern green. I also used the long black sticker from the sticker sheet that looks like the edge of a notebook. My title was from the Printshop ephemera pack.
I had fun adding some watermark stickers from the paperie pack, and then placed the large camera piece on my layout too. I printed my photo in small size to fit a die cut frame. I then had great fun adding loads more stamping to my layout.
I finished the layout off with a Hey Little Magpie word flair layered on top of some teal thread.
Thanks for coming to take a closer look at my layout. I hope you feel inspired to give a mixed media layout a go. It really was fun to create.
