The Yellow Door – Fancy Pants
‘This is Kay with my very first blog post for the team! I chose The Yellow Door from Fancy Pants collection as I was attracted to the bright colour palette. I didn’t realise when I ordered it that it was an autumn collection, but I think it could be used for many occasions as the colours are very easy to work with and so versatile.
I used plain black card stock as the background for both of my layouts as I think it makes the colours pop and also for the title which I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.
To start I added the Enjoy paper to my black cardstock, then I used a strip of the Autumn paper, I love the colours in this print! I added a few thin strips from various sheets and cut out a scallop from the Fall Festive paper and a strip with blocks of colour from the Kitsch fall paper. I added some faux stitching to the scallop and then various pieces from the ephemera and sticker packs, using 3D foam to create dimension.
For my second layout I used a mixture of mists and acrylic paints to create the background. Next I used a white pen and added a few tiny circles here and there.
I wanted my photo to be central so I could use the embellishments around it. I used various pieces from the ephemera pack and punched some circles from the papers to place around the photo. I added a title using Thickers from my stash.
I have really enjoyed working with this collection and using the lovely bright colours while the weather is so dreary outside. I will be back on 27th January sharing more layouts with these fabulous papers.
