The Festive Season is Here!
Hi Magpies. I am really feeling in the Christmas spirit now although I still have a whole heap of things to do before the big day.
One of the things I love about this time of year is meeting up with friends. It’s so good to meet up and celebrate the season together.
I have used Pebbles – Merry Little Christmas for this layout – it has a great festive colour combination and adorable stickers.
I love the garlands that you get at this time of year, so I have created my own using mixed die-cut leaves and branches. The centre piece for my garland is the die-cut wreath and title. I used the Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland stamp and dies which are a real bargain! To give them extra depth, I die-cut several layers and glued them together.
I die cut some holly leaves and mistletoe leaves from the Counting Down paper. I then smooshed a little texture paste and glitter while it was wet to create snow on some of the leaves and branches. Nuvo Crystal drops are marvellous. I created large drops to form berries and also sprinkled on some red berry type balls which added a bit of colour to this part of the design.
The large ‘ribbon’ border is cut out from the Candy Cane paper. I added texture to the border by incorporating some Christmas wrapping accessories – pom pom trim and bakers twine.
The fun cardstock stickers were layered with foam tape for a lovely whimsical touch.
Bright Frosty Mornings
This month, I am also using the Snow Much Fun collection from Carta Bella. This collection is predominantely blues with some very striking dark blue papers which are almost black. It’s a great contrast to the Merry Little Christmas collection.
I have been trying capture some of the lovely morning walks I take with the dog (although they are mainly wet or overcast). Even the most ordinary parks look magical when sparkling with frost.
The totally cute Fun with Friends paper has gorgeous little animals and skiing scenes. I fussy cut some of the elements from the paper to create a little scene. To make it stand out, I created a bright from a Pebbles Paper – Snow Friends. I used texture paste and glitter to add to the snowy scene.
The trees on the Element Sticker Sheet were calling out for some snowy hills so I drew simple waves using a white pen. I then layered the trees in clusters for more impact. I love how this turned out!
Also on the Element Sticker Sheet are fabulous elements and words. I added more snow to the snow globe for good measure.
I hope I have inspired you to scrap some current photos which are not necessarily Christmas related.
Thank you for stopping by. Only 13 more sleeps…
