The Avenue, Jen Hadfield. Part 2 | Giselle Homer
Hello again Magpies,
I’m back with two more layouts using this fun and versatile collection from Jen Hadfield. My first layout features the black and white stripe paper as a background. And a cut file which that I backed filled with another black and white paper.
I wanted to document the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on my two teenage grandsons and thought this colour scheme would be quite dramatic! I placed the cut file at an angle and added the word ‘home’ from the cut apart paper.
I backed my two photos with white cardstock plus a wood effect paper from the collection and glued them into place.
I used two floral die cuts and placed them on either side of the title cut file. I used a small alphabet from my stash as a secondary title between the two photos.
I fussy cut some trees and houses which I placed below the photos, leaving a space for added journalling.
My second layout is based on a grid pattern. I began by trimming my cardstock and adding paint splashes using two different greens. I mounted the cardstock onto a dark green paper.
Then I cut four squares from the wood effect paper and another four using the floral paper. I distressed the edges and glued them into place. I backed my photo with white cardstock and a dark blue paper, then placed it to the left of centre overlapping the squares.
I fussy cut a strip of leaves to make a border on the lower edge of the base.
Then I fussy cut lots of the cute dogs, which I added to the squares, plus a fun sticker of a girl walking her dog – it was made for this layout! Plus some puffy dots, a gold sticker and a heart to the photo at the lower left edge.
I raised some of the dogs on foam stickers and included some gold leaf shapes to the groups of trees.
I used two alphabets of my own to make the title on the lower right square and added a few more puffy dots.
I hope this gives you some ideas for using this collection, there’s so much variety and lots of fun elements so I really enjoyed using it!
Till next month, happy scrapping everyone!
