The Avenue, Jen Hadfield | Giselle Homer

Hello again Magpie fans,

We’re truly heading into autumn now and this collection is perfect to document your autumn photos.

GROWING MY OWN FRUIT

For my first layout I sprinkled some paint splashes onto white cardstock. Then I chose three of the papers, which I tore along one edge. I layered these at the top of my white cardstock base allowing two of the papers to peep out from the floral pattern, forming a triangle shape.

I distressed the edges of my three photos and placed them just off centre, below the point of the triangle.

Then I added some die cut flowers from the ephemera pack. There are so many pieces in this pack, it was easy to choose some that work well with the layout.

I continued to add more flowers, a butterfly and other die cut shapes, maintaining the triangle shape towards the bottom of the layout. I added a phrase sticker above one of the photos.

I added another flower group below the photo on the right, leaving space for my title using a small alphabet from my own stash for this.  A couple more stickers from the collection and some enamel dots finished off the layout.

MR COOL!

My second layout is completely different and shows how versatile this collection is! I started by cutting a large cut file on my Silhouette. I backfilled this with two contrasting patterned papers for the stripes and used a blue paper for the flowers. I chose a bright green cardstock for the leaves.

Then I glued the whole thing onto a dark grey cardstock base.

I layered my photo with white and grey card, then I tucked it between two of the stripes, just left of centre. Then I placed some trees to the right. I had fussy cut these from one of the papers and layered them onto green cardstock to make them more prominent.

I highlighted the flowers of the cut file with gold leaf puffy shapes.

I used a few stickers and a fussy cut phrase to place at the lower right corner of my photo.

I added a title with a very old alphabet from my stash and embellished it with another gold leaf group puffy sticker.

I hope to see some of your layouts on our Facebook page, so until next month, happy scrapping everyone.
