Sweet Talk | Simple Stories | Morag Cutts

Hi friends.  January is typically a gloomy month after the Christmas festivities, so it’s nice to play with some cheerful goodies to brighten the days.  This month I am using the bright and pretty Sweet Talk from Simple Stories collection.Although the collection is perhaps for Valentine’s day, it is filled with gorgeous elements and the prettiest of papers.

First of all, I added ink to my background using some cellophane packaging.  I also used a paint brush to help the ink to move and add some splatters.  I then stamped over the top using the same coloured ink. I mounted my photos onto 2×2 Elements paper and 4×6 Elements paper.

The Tags paper has 15 double-sided tags to choose from! They are great to add some movement and hang trinkets.

I wasn’t sure how to make an interesting title, then hit on the idea of a vertical design.  The Foam Stickers are wonderful – so tactile and easy to use.

On the left hand side of the page, I tore a strip of Love is in the Air and backed it with some crepe paper before layering stickers from the 12×12″ Cardstock Sticker sheet.

Love Layout

For this layout, I created a  partial wreath design with lots of stickers and elements.  First of all I painted the wreath using watercolour paint and added splatters in red and gold.

I fussy cut some elements and interspersed them with some Chipboard stickers. I also tucked in a small die-cut envelope and scattered a sticker or two.

To add more interest to the wreath, I added some Nuvo Drops in pink and red.

Die-cut elements and another tag add a bit more texture and interest to the top of the photo.

I had a lot of fun with this collection and will be back later in the month with two more projects.

Thanks for dropping by
