Sweet Story Maggie Holmes Pt2 | Jo Boland
Hello, how are we all? I am loving creating with the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story collection from Crate Paper and I’m back with part 2. [You can find part 1 here]
Scrapbook Layout 1 – Life is Better
My first layout (shown above) was inspired by the layout created by my fellow team member Sheena for her iNSD challenge to use 3 or more tags. I loved the tone on tone Sheena used with her tags and paper.
To change it up a little I flipped the design and used the gorgeous rainbow striped paper Jubilee from Sweet Story for the background. I adhered this on top of a sheet of white cardstock and flicked some gold ink over the page. Added cut out cards from the Confection paper placing them tone on tone on the striped paper.
I used a colourful photo of my husband and I on top of one of the cut out cards. Then I went through the embellishment packs and added them tone on tone.
I used puffy stickers, layered butterfly stickers, chipboard stickers, die cut ephemera and cardstock stickers, all from the Sweet Story Collection.
Scrapbook Layout 2 – The Scone Revolution
Earlier this month I joined in with a challenge over at GoGo Getaway to use squares on a layout and I came up with this grid layout.
I used the lovely Rhyme paper for my background, I gutted the centre of it to use on another layout, I didn’t waste it.
The polka dot paper from my stash (this one was from Pebbles a while back) and some red thickers, again from my stash. Simple Stories have released a range of coloured foam thickers and coloured cardstock stickers.
I used this cute strawberry paper called Shortcake underneath two opposing squares, distressing the edges.
I embellished the layout with little strawberries from the Sweet Story collection. There’s a couple from the puffy sticker pack, a chipboard one and some cardstock stickers.
The black label came from the cardstock sticker pack was cut in two and used in opposite corners. Finally I draw fake stitching around the edge of the white cardstock to tie it all together.
And now I want to bake scones again!
