Sunny Days – Philippa McCray
Hi there Magpies!
What a bizarre summer we’re having! We’ve had some scorchingly hot, sunny days but we’ve also had some dull, grey and wet days too! Whether you’ve been lucky enough to get away for a vacation or just chilling at home on staycation the Sunny Days collection from Crate Paper is great for documenting lazy days!
For my first 12×12 layout I chose to document a really fun day at the coast.

I gutted a sheet of Care Free paper to use as a striped border and cut a few of the birds from the reverse. I used the striped side of the Explorer Paper to die cut the three little beach huts and backed them with co-ordinating plain coloured cardstock from my stash. The shells were cut from one of the tags in the Die Cut Ephemera Pack which also contained the acetate girl in her sun shades.

I made the photo tags using pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera and added trim from my stash. I stamped the date on the Summer Time tag. The little heart on the wooden peg came from the 12×12 Chipboard Accents. I threaded them on to bakers twine and looped them across the top of the page having first put down a light water colour wash.

For my second layout I decided to scrapbook a photo of my youngest daughter with one of my very dear friends. It was lovely that they were able to spend some time together before my daughter returned to Australia.

I used the Retreat paper for my base and fussy cut the gorgeous flowers from the Apple Blossom Paper, I just love Maggie Holmes florals! I knew I wanted to create a garland design so I drew a circle using aqua pencil and then machine stitched around it three times.
I layered my photo using the reverse of Apple Blossom and some plain cardstock. The tags in the Die Cut Ephemera pack are perfect for layering! I added threads, tiny tassels from my stash some bakers twine and a little chipboard heart.

I love this collection and will be back later this month with two more projects, until then Happy Scrapping!
