Sunkissed | Cocoa Vanilla Studio | Sheena Rowlands
Hi there Magpies, Sheena here today. This month I’ll be sharing with you 4 layouts created with Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Sunkissed collection. It is full of the most wonderful colours and delightful ephemera.
For this first post I wanted to share with you 2 layouts I made using the same patterned paper! I really liked the rainbow striped Good Vibrations paper so got 2 sheets.
I took a pair of scissors to the Good Vibrations paper & cut it into all the colour strips. I distressed all the edges and arranged them in rainbow order coming down the cardstock. I tore some of the strips in two, to fill any gaps. Using a sewing machine I attached them all to the cardstock using white thread down the centres so the edges could be lifted for dimension.
I mounted my photo on ombre patterned paper from the Sunkissed 6×8 paper pad. I then lightly embellished with die cut flowers at the top & either side of the photo to create a visual triangle, adding enamel dots in the flower centres.
For the second layout I used a 12 x 4 strip of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio- Sunkissed, Good Vibrations paper with the stripes vertical this time.
Using watercolour paints I created drips in each of the colours to match the strips in the patterned paper. I had to be patient and let each stripe dry before painting the next so that they didn’t run off the cardstock.
I chose photos of flowers to echo the rainbow in the Good Vibrations paper printing them about 2inch square. When all the paint was dry I adhered the photos on foam pads across the edge of the patterned paper and tucked in die cut and puffy sticker flowers of matching colours in-between. I added enamel dots to their centres then a few splattered with white paint all over.
I hope these provide some inspiration for using the Sunkissed collection and the Good Vibrations patterned paper. Do share with us your creations over in our Facebook group as we would love to see them.
Till next time x
