Summertime Scrapbook Layout – Echo Park Paper – Our Groovy Summer – Wendy Meffan

Creating this scrapbook layout was such a fun way to document our Aruba memories using the beautiful Echo Park Paper Co. Our Groovy Summer collection. The bright colours, playful patterns, and retro summer vibes were absolutely perfect for showcasing our tropical photos and capturing the carefree feeling of vacation life.

For this page, I used two landscape 3×4 photos that I matted and layered over patterned papers from the collection. The layers helped add dimension and really made the photos stand out against the bold designs. I love mixing patterns from the collection because they coordinate so effortlessly while still adding lots of visual interest to the layout.

To the side of the photos, I added a 3×4 journal card that the perfect words to sum up memories from our trip. It balances the page nicely while adding another fun design element. One of my favourite details on this layout is the three floral clusters I created using fussy cut flowers from the Groovy Flowers 12×12 paper. Fussy cutting always adds such a personal touch, and the colourful florals bring extra texture and movement to the page.

I also embellished the layout with chipboard pieces, elements from the sticker sheet, and pieces from the Frames and Tags ephemera pack. These little details help tie everything together and give the page a layered, finished look without overwhelming the design.

Across the bottom of the layout, I created a playful border using fussy cut swimsuits, which adds a fun summer element and helps lead your eye across the page. To finish everything off, I added the “Summertime” title from the sticker sheet — the perfect finishing touch for these sunny Aruba memories.
