Summer Snapshots Scrapbook Layout – Echo Park – Our Groovy Summer – Wendy Meffan

Sun-soaked memories deserve a layout that feels just as vibrant—and that’s exactly what I set out to create with this Summer Snapshots scrapbook page using the Echo Park Our Groovy Summer collection.

For this design, I worked with two of my favourite photos from Baby Beach in Aruba. The giant pink statue and Big Mama cart instantly bring back that fun, carefree summer feeling, so I wanted the page to reflect that same energy.

I started by cutting three patterned papers into two sets of triangles and fanning them out across the background. This simple technique adds movement and draws your eye right into the centre of the page. To give the design a bit more structure and detail, I used the Hey Little Magpie scalloped die to create two decorative borders, layering them along the edges of the triangles. The scallops add a soft, playful touch that complements the bright summer patterns beautifully.

Next, I positioned my photos on top of the fanned triangles,  to create dimension. From there, the fun part began—embellishing! I clustered chipboard elements, stickers, and ephemera pieces around the photos, to highlight special details. These layers help tell the story while adding depth and texture to the layout.

To finish the page, I added a bold title using a chipboard piece along with the Snapshots die and stamp set from Hey Little Magpie. This combination ties everything together and reinforces the theme of capturing those unforgettable summer moments.

This layout is all about colour, movement, and layering—perfect for documenting sunny days and happy memories.
