Such a Cutie Pie | Pinkfresh Studio The Simple Things | Emma Kate

Hey Magpies, my final layout for this month is all about the florals. I used 3 floral patterned papers from the Pinkfresh Studio ‘The Simple Things’ collection; ‘Celebrate Today’, ‘Beautiful Day’ & ‘Life is Sweet’ (A & B side).

I began by splitting my page on the diagonal into 4 sections, each of the sections being a different floral patterned paper. I then machined stitched in white thread along each section edge.

My plan was to surround my photo with ephemera but then I thought, I wonder what it would look like with some fussy cut flowers from the same papers? Each fussy cut flower being on the opposite side from its original pattern paper, I think it gave the layout a lovely balance.

To the left of my photo I added my title, I liked the use of both lower & upper case letters, it adds a playfulness. Tucked underneath I placed my journalling, typed onto white cardstock & cut into strips.

To finish, I bent up the edges of my sections to add some texture, & finished with a flourish of sparkle. I think floral patterned papers are one of my absolute favourites, & Pinkfresh Studio do it so well!
