STORYTELLER – VICKI BOUTIN – PART 1 – WENDY MEFFAN

Hi everyone! I’m back sharing two layouts using Vicki Boutin’s Storyteller Collection. It’s a gorgeous collection covering many themes and plenty of different colours. For my first LO I drew a map of Australia on the striped paper remaining from gutting the 12×12 Sequence paper, and then used some water colours and let the corresponding colours drip down the page.

I then used four more sheets from the 6×8 paper pad and tore small strips which I tucked in either side of the map .I outlined the map in a black fine line pen and then raised it up on sticky fixers to give some depth to the LO.

I used the cut apart sheet from the 6×8 pad and cut it into four pieces out and then used one of the pieces to matt the photo on the right. I used another paper from the 6×8 pad for the other photo.

I decided to make a small cluster towards the bottom right hand side of the page and used some stickers from the cardstock sticker sheet and also some chipboard word and phrase stickers

I liked the quote ‘ you have all of my heart’ on one of the chipboard pieces so balanced the LO by adding it to the top left corner and then connected it by the heart stickers.

I tucked chipboard stickers and ordinary stickers around the photos and then added the title.

STORYTELLER LAYOUT 2

For my second LO my initial start point was the beautiful 12×12 foiled velum sheet which is full of circles embossed with gold and words on them. I decided to cut the circles out and see where I got to! I gutted the 12×12 Sequence paper to make a border for this LO and cut down my white card stock to 11.5 inches square.

I started with some gold watercolour paint which I smooshed for the background and then some watercolour splatters. Then I picked two photos which and realised my daughter’s coat matched the colours in the collection and used torn paper strips from the 6×8 paper pad vertically behind the photos.

I specifically chose the green, blue and mustard colours as they co-ordinated with the colours on the circles. ( I made these LO a couple of weeks apart and didn’t look back and didn’t remember I had already used torn paper on the previous LO!) I matted the two photos on  journalling cards cut from the 6×8 paper pad.

I added the fussy cut circles around the photos using some with the words which were appropriate to the photos.

I fussy cut the leaves and birds from the 6×8 sheet in the pad  and added them around the photos with some chipboard sticker pieces. I also added a few mini heart stickers from the sheet around the LO.

I then found a title from an older thicker sheet.

I hope you find some inspiration from these LO and have time to scrap a little at least in the build up to Christmas!

Till next time…
