Storyline Chapters – Heidi Swapp | Caroline Aston
Hi Magpies, I’ve been working with Storyline Chapters by Heidi Swapp again this month. Today I have a 12 x 12 layout for you, where I have mixed the collection with some mixed media.
The Best Ice Cream
I started my layout by using the kissing technique to apply two shades of pink Dry Powder Paint Pigments to a piece of Foundations Paper. Next I used the map stencil from the Vicki Boutin Let’s Wander – Wander Stencil set. Using a damp stencil brush through the stencil to remove some of the colour from the page. Then I applied some Vicki Boutin Sliver Glaze through the stencil, with a stencil brush, to add some shimmer in a few places. To finish the background I added some splatters of the pink pigment powders.
For the main part of the layout I chose a piece of ledger paper from the Journaller – Project Pad. To which I added some more of the silver glaze to the corner. Again using the stencil brush to apply it through the stencil. I cut the paper down to approximately 6.5 x 7.75” to fit on the page, whilst still allowing some white space around the outside.
I selected a couple of neutral papers from the 6 x 8” Paper Pad to layer behind my matted photo. Loving the black and white polka dot print. I used stickers and die cuts from the Project Pad, The Planner – Mini Sticker Book and the Tag Set to build up the embellishment around my photo. Choosing to add the stickers to some white card first, so that I could move them around the page, without committing to the placement straight away.
I finished off my layout by adding my title below the photo with some letter stickers. Then I added some basic information about the photo to the tag.
I have made a few pages now with this collection and have found it really versatile. I love that there are lots of different options for embellishments with lots of stickers included in the Project Pads. If you like the look of this collection, you can find it in the shop here.
Until next time, happy scrapping!
