Story Teller | Vicki Boutin | Morag Cutts
Hi there friends – I am lucky enough to be playing with the stunning Story Teller collection by Vicki Boutin. As with all of Vicki’s collections – there is an eclectic mix of elements and stunning patterned papers.
I was inspired by these old photos from a trip to a craft fayre in 2012! Julie Taylor, Jackie Ashton and I had a great day out in Ally Pally – lots of shopping and laughter! The ephemera and stickers in the collection are a perfect compliment to the day trip.
To anchor the papers to the page, I stampted across the middle. I then layered the Memoir Paper which I had torn and layered together.
On the left hand side I layered some of the ephemera from the Journaling Die-cut pack. There are beautifull foiled velum pieces included in the pack which look fabulous layered together.
I framed my photos with the cute polaroid frames from the die-cut pack and layered some of the gorgeous journal cards to add some texture and depth. The Explore die-cut title is from Vicki’s earlier collection – Let’s Wander. You’ll find that the two collections work together beautifully!
Love Layout
In this layout I used the stunning foiled vellum paper – I love the detail on the circles. The circles have tiny collages – perfect for adding to your layout because all the work is done!
The border strips on the Plot paper are divine – I love how the elements are already collaged! To make the border unique, I added some of my own stamping and texture paste. I layered up one of the tags from the cut apart set and fussy cut one of the birds from the Songbird paper. You can also see that I added stickers from the Sticker Book and Cardstock Sticker pack.
To balance the page, I added more ephemera to the top right corner. The gold puffy stickers are from The Avenue collection – they are wonderful to layer with any collection. As the collection has a number of ‘found’ pieces, I also included some old postage stamps from my stash.
You can see how the layout came together on my YouTube channel.
I hope you like it! I’ll be back later in the month with two more layouts using this collection. Thanks for stopping by.
