Still Home for the Holidays!

Hello again Magpies, I have two more Christmas themed layouts to show you using the very lovely Home for the Holidays collection by Pinkfresh Studios.

Christmas Down the Years

The start point for my first layout was a cut file of sketchy and blank circles. I liked the idea of back filling some of the circles with my photos, so I printed the photos so that the subjects would appear centrally in the circles. I had photos from various years that I wanted to use, so this design allowed me to do that as well. I trimmed the background paper down and glued it to a piece of white cardstock.

I added thin inner circles in red to make them more interesting, then started embellishing the remaining circles with pieces from the ephemera pack and I left a couple unfilled to show off the lovely background paper. I added a word tag across one circle for a bit of variation.

I kept one circle free for my title and although it’s a ‘busy’ layout, using a white background helped it to stand out.

Once all the circles were filled and embellished I glued the cut file to the patterned paper background and added some holly die cuts, enamel dots and gold stars to finish the design.

Where are my Legs?

The second layout is very different, concentrating more on the greens and yellows of the collection and the colours were perfect for this fun photo!

I began by splattering some yellow and orange inks over the white background, then I trimmed the background down and mounted it onto some green cardstock.

I had a green cut file of some geometric Christmas trees which I backed with a patterned paper, then I glued it into place along the lower half of the layout. I added the photo above the trees and tucked some patterned paper pieces behind it.

Included in the collection is a pack of Snow Globes with their own embellishments and gold foiled words, so I used one on the right of the photo with a blue holly die cut at the top and some gold stars.

I added a tag and a ribbon die cut to the top left of the photo, then I made my title using a Pinkfresh Studio alphabet along the top. A little die cut reindeer added the finishing touch.

That’s all from me for November, I look forward to seeing your winter themed pages over on the Hey Little Magpie Facebook page. See you all again in December, till then, happy scrapping!
