Stamping with Elle’s Studio – Part 2 | Caroline Aston

Hi Magpies, today I’m back with two more layouts created using some of the brilliant stamp sets from Elle’s Studio. There are so many different ways to use these stamps. For these layouts, I have used only a small amount of patterned paper, creating my backgrounds and embellishments using the stamp sets.

Gotta Love A Bit of Yellow

For my first layout, I started with a white background and chose one stamp to use to create a repeating pattern. Covering the top half of the page with the pattern.

Next, I chose two patterns from the Vicki Boutin Wildflower & Honey – 6×8” Paper Pad, to layer behind my photo. Adding just enough to make the photo pop off the page.

I wanted to emphasis the ‘Love’ and ‘Yellow’ in my title. Choosing to use some yellow Thickers from my stash, along with the Jane Alphabet stamp set.

For my embellishments I stamped out some labels, and some words. Plus the same circle stamp set, that I had used for the background, which I then cut out with a circle die. Building up three clusters, to form a visual triangle across the page. One on each side of the photo and one at the top right of the page.

I finished off the page by adding my journaling to some stamped lines below the title. Then another row of the circles in yellow at the bottom of the page.

My second layout was quite time consuming, as it involved a lot of stamping. However I think it was worth it.

To create the background I chose lots of different word and phrase stamps, mainly from the Title Builder sets. Choosing stamps which I felt represented the photos. I arranged them to cover the left hand two thirds of the page. Stamping them with different shades of pink and purple ink.

Once I’d finished the background, I moved onto the area with my photos. First, matting my two 3×4” photos onto white card and then black.

Next, I picked two papers from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Unforgettable – 6×8” Paper Pack. Using them to stamp out multiple images using the circles from the Good Times Stamp Set. I decided to use these to layer behind my photos. As, I felt a solid piece of patterned paper might overwhelm the page. I also added circles to two areas at the edge of the layout to create two embellishment clusters.

To finish off the layout and the embellishment, I punched three tabs. Adding the date or a phrase/word, along with a section of the border stamp from the same stamp set. I added the border stamp to the right of the photos and some letter stickers to add my title to the photos. Finally, I added a wood veneer heart to each tab and my journaling below the photos.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have created using stamp sets from Elle’s Studio. You can find their stamps in the shop here.

I’ll be back again next month, so see you then.
