Splashing Fun | One Fall Day Bella Blvd | Emma Kate

Hey Magpies, even though a collection may be themed, in this case ‘fall’ themed, it doesn’t necessarily mean your story has to be. In this layout I have used the ‘Fall Is A Flutter’ patterned paper to document a photo from our holiday this past summer.

I began by cutting my 6 inch circular photo, then matting it onto to white cardstock then patterned paper & placing it centrally on my page. Next I added my ‘Splashing Fun’ title using the blue alpha stickers from the 12×12 One Fall Day Doohickey Stickers sheet.

Then it was time for some fussy cutting, lots & lots of fussy cutting until I had enough butterflies to surround my photo. When adhering the butterflies to my page I only added adhesive to their bodies so I could lift the wings.

I wanted the butterflies to look like they were flying away, so I handstitched (in 3 strand white embroidery thread) little trails behind the butterflies that had come away from the photo. I feel it adds movement to my layout & I imagine that is what any butterflies nearby would do after my little girl makes a big splash.

To finish I add a scattering of Nuvo Drops in co-ordinating colours. Are you fussy cutting yay or fussy cutting nay? Would love to know.
