Spanish Vibe! – Obed Marshall – Especial – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here sharing my first September layout and this month I am using Obed Marshall Especial Collection. I love the bright colours in this collection and all the summer vibes from it. It is such a colourful collection and I decided to pick out the blues and greens along with a dash of yellow. These colours worked perfectly with my photo.
Having chosen this collection it has lots of words in Spanish so I immediately translated each phrase or word, this gave me an idea of which elements I would use on the layout. I also chose the three cut apart sheets from the collection as cutting them up gives a lot of choice of ephemera. I chose my photo which was of me and my husband in Spain and then picked two square cut apart pieces from Unique days 12×12 paper and the Daydreaming 12×12 paper. I made a mixed media background roughly where I was going to position all the pieces. I placed my photo almost centrally and added the two square pieces either side. ( I distressed all the edges of every piece from the cut apart sheets.) I added an acrylic film canister to the side and also cutout the film strip from the Daydreaming paper.
Behind the photo I tucked two tags cut from the Shine bright 12×12 paper and raised them on sticky fixers, I also added some waxed string to the tags. I added some more acrylic embellishments from the collection to the photo along with a chipboard sticker.
At the top right of the layout I added the Smile pennant which brought a splash of contrasting colour to break up the blues and greens. Then I added a few more pieces from the cut apart sheet, a chipboard sticker and an acrylic heart.
I did write under the pieces I’d used the English translation to remind me of the phrases.
I hope you’re inspired to use a collection which is not maybe the norm due to all the foreign words and create some layouts with a slightly different vibe.
Do post your layouts on the Hey Little Magpie Chat and Inspiration facebook page as we love to see your creativity.
Till next time … Happy Scrapping!
