So Tweet
You must have been walking around with your eyes closed to have not seen the recent trends for pineapples and flamingos, but one of the latest trends in the scrapbooking world is for birds – they are so sweet, or should that be so tweet!
From detailed chaffinch, woodpecker and thrush, painted in a botanical style for Websters Pages to quirky swans for my Minds Eye and a cute canary from the Maggie Holmes Bloom collection, most of us I’m sure share the love of our feathered friends…
My first layout is So Sweet (or should I have titled it So Tweet?)
I used a panel of the totally gorgeous My Dear paper and then gessoed the white card stock to enable me to colour it using a combination of paint and mist. I always have to buy a 6 x 6″ paper pad as I always love so many of the papers but find some of the larger designs hard to work with – instead I fussy cut some of the scaled down floral blooms.
The ‘birds on a wire’ was a simple silhouette cut file – both this and the yellow canary are so tweet!
My second layout ‘take a selfie’ uses the vibrant Hello Gorgeous collection from My Minds Eye.
I’m always smitten by random ephemera and this range didn’t let me down for randomness!
Have you noticed the black swan from the ephemera pack?
And yet more random ephemera… you’ve got to love a pair of retro inspired sunglasses!
My third and final layout this month is simply titled ‘Bird”
I have an alternative dictionary, which can sometimes be a bit risqué! I have been saving this page defining a ‘bird’ for as long as I can remember. When I saw the Websters Pages ‘Travellers paper’ I knew it would finally get used!
I find fussy cutting therapeutic so I didn’t see this wonderful paper as a chore, more as a scrappers delight!
So even if you aren’t a budding ornithologist, I’m hoping like me that you’ll simply find these pages so tweet!
