Some Happiness for June!
Hey Magpies! Welcome to June and I’m busting out some Happiness from Cocoa Vanilla this month. It’s a fabulous collection, so pretty and colourful, I think it’s very versatile as well and will work for all sorts of projects. I decided to see if it would work for me and my style. I see so many absolutely stunning layouts done with Happiness and I’m in awe of them. But they’re not really my scrappy style, I see people doing super lush, floralally gorgeousness and I know I can’t re-create that look in my style. So I wondered if this collection would do more clean & simple type of LO’s….. and I think it does! Judge for yourself Magpies.
I started out with the Frame of Mind paper and I cut it apart to make each frame. Then I picked some and laid out a grid for my LO. I had to print a photo the right size to fit inside a frame. Once that was done I used some of the Ephemera, Stickers and Clear Stickers to embellish. I added a Flair Button on one of the circle Stickers and then added some Nuvo Crystal Drops above and below the grid to finish off.

Here’s a little close up, the little metal star embellishments is from the Crate Paper, All Heart collection and again, a very versatile embellishment that I used way more than I expected to!

I stayed with the Frame of Mind paper but using the blue/green side this time. I wanted to try and get a different look from the Happiness line by going for the green. I used the woodgrain, navy and blue papers from the 6×8 Paper Pad under my photo. Then I basically just layered up a lot of the bits from the Ephemera pack. You get 2 of the large floral pieces in the pack, they’re slightly different colours so I layered them with foam pads and thought it looked great! I dotted around some of my favourite Nuvo Drops and my title is a super old Heidi Swapp wood veneer word which was on my desk. The little ‘happiness’ beside my title is actually the logo from the cut off strip on the bottom of a paper!

Here’s a close-up shot to show the slightly different colours of the floral pieces and how cool adding one on top of the other with foam looked. I added some of the little leaf pieces on foam as well. There’s one of the gorgeous floral Clear Stickers on the tag on the right hand side as well. The clear stickers are super lush and add an extra dimension when you start layering them.

You may have seen my last layout because I have shared it already over NSD weekend for Jo’s challenge. I thought I would add it here as well since it’s a Happiness heavy LO. I had to use the gorgeous Good Vibes paper, the lush turquoise is right up my street! So I started by cutting it down to 9×12″ and then added some striped paper on the side for an extra little something. Some yellow cardstock under my photo really helped it to pop on the turquoise and then I just layered some of the Ephemera around again, putting some on foam pads. I did raid my stash for some super old letter and word stickers as well.

And a quick close up to see the cool layering of the Ephemera bits on foam.

So that is my first post this month using the Happiness Collection from Cocoa Vanilla. It is a simply gorgeous collection and you must check it out! I think Cocoa Vanilla knocks it out of the park with their collections every time they release something, they’re always so versatile and usable. I will be back late on in the month with some more layouts, see you then Magpies!
