‘Snip Happy’ and ‘Home School Havoc’ using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary | Niki Rowland
Hey everyone, this is Niki and I have two layouts to share today using the amazing Legendary collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.
I had the 12 x 12 papers, the Accessory Stickers, the Clear Stickers, the Die Cut Ephemera, the Die Cut Titles, the Enamel Dots and the Flair Buttons to use.
For my first layout ‘Snip Happy’ I have put some paint onto the background of my layout and went for a vertical design. I added lots of splatters too. I also added some stamped stars in a dark grey ink.
I used the large blue star die cuts from the ephemera pack which I staggered down the page. I mounted my photo and added that to my layout too.
I added lots of other ephemera and some of the cardstock stickers too. I added some silver thread under my clusters too. For my title I choose the word ‘happy’ from the die cut titles ephemera and also added the word ‘snip’ from my stash of Thickers. This layout is about my little boy cutting his own hair…it has taken four months to grow out!
The clear stickers are a great addition to my mixed media background – they look exactly like more paint!
For my second layout I choose to use the rainbow colourful paper from the Legendary collection. I doodled some pencils at the top of a piece of white card (I used my Silhouette to do this) and then painted them, matching the colours of the pencils to the colours in the paper. I then wanted it to look as though the colour was coming out of the pencils so I added some more paint and then spritzed it with water to make them run.
Once dry I then added my photos. I fussy cut some stars and added those too – I was attempting to add them colour-on-colour but it didn’t quite work out! I like them anyway though. I love the star flair button from the Legendary collection too, so added that.
For my title I used a mixture of alphabet stickers. I had the Pinkfresh Studio Noteworthy letters which had great tomes of blue and green in them but also lots of pink and purple which didn’t go very well with my layout. So for the letters that weren’t right, I used black Thickers instead.
Thanks so much for joining me today and make sure you check out the Legendary collection as it’s fabulous for documenting the men in your life. I will be back later in the month with two more layouts using it.
