Hello Magpies.
Today I’m sharing a scrapbook layout using Pinkfresh Studio Ordinary Joys collection.
When I first opened the gorgeous Ordinary Joys collection from Pinkfresh Studio, the warm, earthy colours immediately gave me autumnal vibes, so I decided to embrace that feeling and create a cosy autumn-inspired 12×12 layout.
I started with a patterned paper from the collection for my background, choosing one that complemented the rich tones and gave me a lovely base to work from. I then took another patterned paper and fussy cut carefully around the scalloped edges before adding it across the middle of my page. This instantly gave me the foundation for the grid design I had in mind.
I placed my photo in the top left square and then cut three more 3.5 x 3.5″ squares from coordinating papers. I arranged these across the scalloped panel, creating four little sections to decorate. Before adding my embellishments, I tucked a pretty lace trim along the bottom edge. I love how this adds a touch of texture and softness amongst all the paper layers.
Now came the fun part – decorating each square! Around my photo I added a chipboard frame along with a few stickers, keeping this section fairly simple so the photograph remained the focus. In the top right square I added one of the exclusive HLM wood leaves, a word strip and a few pieces of ephemera, which worked perfectly with the autumnal feel.
For the bottom two squares, I wrapped some twine around both before embellishing. The bottom left received more of the gorgeous wood leaves, a wood word from the collection and additional ephemera. I deliberately kept the final square relatively uncluttered, giving the whole design a little breathing space and somewhere for the eye to rest.
To finish everything off, I added a few buttons from my stash and some little pieces saved from previous HLM embellishment collections. I love how these extra touches bring everything together and add even more texture and personality to this autumn-inspired page.
