Skiing in Breckenridge – Mini Book – Wendy Meffan
Hi everyone,
I have made a mini book of our skiing holiday last New Year in Breckenridge. I’m using Carta Bella Snow much Fun
The front cover was made from the 12×12 paper Winter Town.which I cut down to a 6×6 size. I used Stardust Stickles to outline the snow caps on the mountains to make the snow glisten and then I attached a row of pom poms along the edge of the front cover as they are quite snowlike!
I decided to use 7 of the papers from the collection randomly and increased the size of each page just enough to be able to use a border punch along the edge. All the papers in this collection were perfect for the photos from our holiday and coordinated so well with all the snow scenes.
To embellish the book I used the chipboard phrases sheet; frames and tags ephemera and the element sticker sheet from the collection. I raised most of the stickers and die cuts on sticky fixers to give more depth to each page.
I used the cut apart sheet to create extra mini pages to allow me to add extra photos and do some journalling.
I thought the jumper paper was so cute that I fussy cut some of the jumpers and raised them on sticky fixers.
I used some leaf dies and cut a few different designs to add in behind some of the photos throughout the book.
I also punched snowflakes and added diamond dots to bring a bit of sparkle to the snowy pages.
I decided to add tabs along the tops of most of the pages to make it easier to turn the pages. I stapled these on and lastly when the book was finished I added an acetate sheet over the front cover and the back page to offer protection to the photos and the thickers on the front cover. Then I added some Baker’s twine to the metal rings and a couple of wooden hanging embellishments which actually came in a pack from Sainsburys christmas collection.
I really enjoyed putting this together and using this gorgeous collection, i hope you will feel inspired to use it not only for layouts but other creations too!
Till next time , happy scrapping!
