Simple Stories Vintage Country Harvest | Sheena Rowlands
Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again.
Today I’m sharing with you 2 layouts created with the wonderful Simple Stories Vintage Country Harvest collection. I was drawn to this collection with it’s lovely autumnal colours.
Using white cardstock as the base I stencilled and stamped lightly onto it using Ink oxides in complimentary colours to the Simple Stories collection.
For my first layout I focused on the patterned paper – Nature’s Wonder as I really loved the B side print. I tore this into pieces following the lines on the paper then layered them up again. I fussy cut the tree from one of these pieces too. Then I added torn spotty paper from the 6×8 paper pad plus a 3×4 journalling card.
Using a chipboard frame to hold 2 photos of our Grand-pup I added this over the torn papers. Then created 2 clusters using stickers, decorative brads, foam stickers, bits and pieces. To make the leaves I used Distress inks on cardstock then cut them out before adding machine stitches veins.
For my second layout I wanted to scrap a few photos taken from a recent visit to a pumpkin patch. The base is made up of 2 Country Harvest papers – Favorite Season and Forever Fall.
I created a column with the photos off on the left side. Using a small banner from the Cardstock Sticker sheet I embellished it further with chipboard and die cut pieces and added my journalling in the frame.
By hand I added some sewing to this page, adding random crosses to the dotty paper and outlining the pumpkin on the other. I added 2 smaller clusters to finish the page.
I hope these provide some inspiration for using the Simple Stories Vintage Country Harvest collection. Hop on over to our Facebook group for lots of inspiration and our monthly challenge too.
Till next time.
