Simple Stories So Happy Together | Jo Boland

Hey there! It’s Jo here with my first project for the month using the Simple Stories ‘So Happy Together’ collection. This collection is a gorgeous mix of family and home inspired accents and elements with sweet florals, gingham, spots and woodgrain, plus my favourite, the words paper.

With an abundance of stickers and die-cuts I decided my first project for the month would be a mini-book. I cut four papers to 9″ x 4.5″ and four pieces of white smooth cardstock measuring the same size. I folded these in half, placing a white piece inside each patterned paper. These are the signatures. I cut two 4.5 x 4.5″ pieces of ‘Hello Love’ paper, two from white cardstock and two from cardboard. These are the front and back covers. I simply glued a piece of the ‘Hello Love’ patterned paper to the cardboard with the woodgrain side outermost. I glued the white cardstock to the other side of the cardboard.

The spotted paper is Happy Heart, The red floral paper is Happy Together, the gingham paper is My Squad and the words paper is Our Story. I used the Pink Paislee Paige Evans Book Binding Tool to make the coptic bound mini-book.

Alas I forgot to take a photo of the binding process, but here’s the mini-book bound.

My mini-book is about the beautiful holiday cottage we rented in Bude, Cornwall this summer, Huddle Cottage. I used the mini sticker tablet, bits & pieces die-cuts, journal bits & pieces die-cuts, 12 x 12 combo stickers and 6 x 12 chipboard stickers.

Here’s the mini-book in full.

Thanks so much for stopping by, go check out the collection here and I’ll see you back on the 24th November with some more projects using the Simple Stories So Happy Together collection.
