Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Sand and Sea | Part 2 | Giselle Homer

Hello Magpies,

Here’s my second layout for July using Simple Stories ‘Simple Vintage Sand and Sea’. I decided on a circular theme for this page, so the first thing I did was to cut a handful of circles, in different sizes, designs and colours.

 

Then I cut a 9″ diameter circle from some white cardstock and glued it to the centre of a blue dotted paper from the collection. It’s called ‘Shore is Fun’.  On top of that I added an 8.5″ diameter outline circle of blue cardstock to use as a border.

 

I glued my photo in the lower left quarter of the circle and added a die cut strip at the top, tucking the photo under a slit I made below the ‘bull dog clip’.

 

There are so many die cuts in this collection that I was spoiled for choice. There are two packs, called ‘Journal Bits’ and ‘Bits & Pieces’ both of which have over 60 items each! Not forgetting the pack of ‘Floral Bits’. I made my choice and added some of the circles that I’d cut out previously.

 

I repeated that at the lower left corner of the photo, adding my title which is framed by one of the outline circle die cuts.

 

Despite a little preparation die cutting, this layout is fairly simple to create and sometimes ‘less is more’!
