Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Sand and Sea | Giselle Homer
Hi everyone,
I’m starting this month with a layout using Simple Stories ‘Simple Vintage Sand & Sea’. It’s a lovely bright collection with plenty of ephemera to help you scrapbook all your seaside memories.
I love this photo of my other half taking in the wonderful coastal scenery in California. So I chose elements & papers patterns from the collection that would reflect that.
ENJOY THE MOMENT
I began by adding an inky background using Distress Inks Broken China & Tumbled Glass. Then I backed my photo which measures 4.5″ x 3″, with plain cardstock.
Then I cut out a few tags & patches of patterned paper which I tucked behind the photo on both sides. The little metal button, with the red thread, is from Hey Little Magpie’s monthly Embellishment Kit. As is the compass which I placed below the photo.
Below the photo I added a phrase die cut as my title. I cut a 10″ scalloped strip to place behind the photo so that it showed above & below it. And added a paper ‘ruler’ alongside that which is also from the Embellishment kit.
Then I added a die cut strip which has a sailing boat on one end. I used the blank space to add details of our trip. To finish the page I chose a die cut flower group which I cut in half. The two pieces were then placed on either side of the photo to add a little ‘pop’ of red to the page.
